Local Freight Forwarding Agency is hiring for Distributions Clerks. Clerk is responsible for scheduling, monitoring of our carriers to provide on-time pickup and delivery of merchandise. This support roll will do freight analysis and review of freight bills before payments are made to check the accuracy and vendor compliance. This position will grow as the company begins its importing of goods from overseas.

Verification of merchandise received in a fast paced, high unit environment by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Track and manages 50-100 inbound and outbound shipments per week ensuring: timeliness of inbound

shipments; cost; monitoring and correcting vendor performance deficiencies.

· Analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes,

product volumes and mixes, and carriers.

· Monitor product import processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal

requirements.

· Participate in carrier management processes, such as selection, qualification, and

performance evaluation.

· Create New Store Shipping documents and bills of lading

· Communication with carriers to obtain freight quotes on TL verses LTL movements

· File loss and or damaged package claims.

· Works with the receiving department to ensure appointment and shipments scheduled in WM system.

· Liaison between carriers and vendors to ensure the best and lowest shipping methods are used.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

· High School Diploma/Community College plus 1-2 years in a transportation environment. Prior experience in imports and experts is preferred.

· Strong Organizational skills

vendors and carriers.

· Customer service oriented ability to operate in a fast pace, multi-tasking environment.

The incumbent performs clerical and physical tasks in connection with the shipping of goods.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Shipping duties typically involve the following: verifies that orders are accurately filed by comparing items and quantities of goods (weight, # of items, measurements) gathered for shipment against documents; insures that shipments are properly packaged, identified with on-hand notice and shipping information, and loaded into transporting vehicles; and prepares and maintains records of goods shipped; manifests; bills of lading, O.H notices. Freight is labeled; stacked on pallets; staged in loading area for delivery; truck pro’s are typed.
· Receiving duties typically involve the following: verifies the correctness of incoming shipments by comparing items and quantities unloaded against bills of lading, invoices, manifests, storage receipts, or other records; checks for damaged goods — if cargo and not container is damaged, shipper is contacted for instruction; produces damage control reports; insures goods are appropriately identified for routing and prepares and maintains records of goods received; items are stocked in accordance with standard procedures; cargo is traced through to its destination; may sign bills of lading.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma required; 2 plus years experience as a freight forwarding traffic clerk
SAP & AS400 experience
Must be Bilingual
